Faryn Miller, LPC
Hi!
My name is Faryn Miller and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Certified School Counselor. I have over 10 years of experience as a teacher and school counselor, with experience in all grade levels Kinder- 12th grade. In addition, I have clinical experience working with children, teens, adults, individuals, and families. This backgorund allows me the unique perspective to help mutilple age ranges, in multiple settings.
I am a graduate of Texas A&M University- College Station with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, and a Master of Education in Guidance and Counseling from Angelo State University. I completed additional classes, passed the National Counseling Exam, completed my 3,000 hours of supervision and am now fully licensed as an LPC in the state of Texas. I am also a member of the Texas Counseling Association.
I believe that through unconditional positive regard, individuals can feel safe enough to explore their inner thoughts and beliefs. Through this process, I hope that individuals can gain new insights and perspectives while challenging debilitating beliefs and perceptions, which can help people work toward life goals. My style is warm, empathetic, relaxed, and non-judgmental. I have an eclectic counseling style with the foundation in client-centered approach. I draw upon multiple interventions, including the therapeutic aspects of sand, art, and play to address emotional, behavioral, and relational issues. Not everyone responds the same to therapy, so it is my job to help tailor the experince to the clients individual needs to maximize outcomes.
